John Ketzenberger’s Summary of Events

My favorite business write, John Ketzenberger’s column this morning includes a list of, as he puts it, Feuds, dudes and curious interludes . In his typical style, he presents the 2006 Ketzies, awards given in good humor that may or may not be taken that way.

If you are a Ketzenberger fan, you will enjoy the short read. And if you aren’t, now is a good time to change your mind!

Getting to Other Great Blogs!

Tony Valle (Great Big Podcast) tagged my blog in a virtual “getting to know you” blogger game. Since I’ve been tagged, I’ll post five things most people don’t know about me below. I’ll then tag other bloggers and encourage them to do the same.

Thanks for including me Tony!

What most people don’t know about me:
1) I hear music through the bottom of my feet. I’m tone deaf, so it is all about the rhythm and the beat!
2) I speak Hebrew, badly. I had to learn so I could teach English as a second language in a small town in Israel.
3) Although I still think of myself as a New Yorker, I have actually lived outside of NYC most of my life.
4) My all time favorite movie is Singing in the Rain, and I think Donald O’Conner was a much better dancer than Gene Kelly.
5)I was going to be an accountant.

Some of my favorite blogs:

Economic Club of Indianapolis is Now Economic Club of Indiana

An Indianapolis institution, the Economic Club has served the Circle City for 32 years. Over the years, their monthly programming has featured local and national experts including Milton Friedman,, Irving Kristol, the Wall Street Journal columnist and Public Interest co-editor, and Steve Forbes, former presidential candidate and chairman of the publishing empire that bears his name.

In January they will be making a change – he Economic Club of Indianapolis will become the Economic Club of Indiana. The name change is part of the transition of the program from the Indianapolis Chamber to the Indiana Chamber.

I am glad to see this series has found a new sponsor. I would hate to lose the value it brings..

Upcoming speakers include:

January 9, John Hofmeister, President, Shell Oil America: Alternative Energy

· February 12, Barbara Henry, President and Publisher, The Indianapolis Star: Media and Its Relevance Today

· March 2, Professor John Yoo, University of California-Berkley law professor, author and former U.S. Department of Justice official: Foreign Affairs After 9/11

· April 11, Clifford Stohl, author: Technology and Its Place in Our Lives

· May 2, Richard Epstein, author and Director, Law and Economics Program, University of Chicago: speaking on the pharmaceutical industry
